    The problem is, is that you don't maintain it b/c your body will always want a state of equilibrium. You always hear Beyonce or whoever on the lemon detox diet and all that crap. It's pure nonsense. Of course those celebrities are desperate and will lose weight on strictly liquid diets but they never work in the long haul.

    As far as what happens when you back to eating healthy, you're bound to gain some weight back. Now how much depends how long you were on this extreme diet/detox.

    Real quick info on me. I used to wrestle in high school and sucked a lot of weight to wrestle at the lowest weight class possible. It was rough to say the least. Sure I cut 7 lbs of water in 24 hours or less but it was never long term. Everytime I starved and worked out to make weight, after weigh ins, I'd gain it all back and then more. It really screwed my metabolism up.

    First of all, holy crap, you're tall.

    Secondly, I'm sorry to say that losing that weight will most likely result in the need for some kind of tummy tuck / full body tuck, depending on where the weight sat on your body, regardless of how much you exercise. Skin does have some elasticity to just bounce back, but not that much. Most likely your stomach/middle section will need some kind of plastic surgery.

    this is how it works for me: my BAR(body at rest) caloric load is about 1800 per day. if i go below that number consistently, i lose weight. exercise speeds up the process by making you burn more calories. it also is just good for the entire body.

    Double edged sword here.
    It's harder to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time but not impossible.
    Let's use a hypothetical situation here where your basal caloric intake is 2500 cal a day to sustain whatever mass you have, by exercising you bring that need up to 3000. So if your eating 2500kcal still you will start losing 1lb of fat a month. Now let's say your eating a healthy 3800kcal while burning off 500kcal and working off another 300kcal from lifting weights, etc. You will still burn off fat but you will also gain a little muscle as well without losing or gaining body weight.

    So to answer your question simply, no to both. Just do longer bouts of cardio to target fat burning and continue to eat a healthy caloric intake higher than your basal metabolic needs and you will lose fat and gain muscle.
    But as I said it will be tougher than just focusing on one over the other.

    Eat 4 oz. of protein and vegetables three times daily. No snacks, no caloric drinks of any kind. No sugar… Drink water all day until 1/2 hour before meals. Don't drink during meals.

    Your mom sounds like someone who really hates herself. I strongly advise you to see a counselor, religious adviser, or trusted adult who can give you more specific suggestions for your situation.

    You may also want to catch your dad on a day off and find a way to get some time alone with him. (Ask him to take a walk with your or take you for coffee/breakfast.) You can try to explain your situation to him. He may not be able to help you b/c of your mother's control.

    I know this is miserable to hear, but there is nothing you can do to change your mother's behavior. You can only change the way you respond to it. If your father can't help you, I would look into what it takes to get out of the house. You are 18 and legal.

    (I left home at 17 and lived with my grandmother until I joined the service at 18 – wasn't easy but was the best thing I ever did. My life now is amazing – it wouldn't have been if I had stayed home.)

    Vegan food is inexpensive – in fact, it's cheaper than meats! Rice, beans, tortillas, bread, veggies or fruits, etc are much cheaper than meat/eggs/dairy. I like to eat little snacks throughout the day, like hummus and pita, celery with peanut butter, energy bars, crackers with soy cheese, or a box of raisins. As far as drinks go, I drink about 8-10 cups of water a day, a cup of soymilk or rice milk, and maybe a cup of Orange Juice. Try to eat 3 'good' meals a day, including a breakfast before school. For breakfast, I usually eat just a simple bowl of cereal, like Cheerios or Fruit Loops with soymilk and a piece of fruit, like an apple. I might also eat a piece of toast with jelly.

    If you like to cook, here's some good vegan recipes:

    If you like to eat fast food, like I do, there's plenty of veg options at places like 7/11, Starbucks, Taco Bell, California Pizza Kitchen, Jimmy Johns, Subway, Chipotle, Noodles and Company, Panera Bread, and more! 😀

    By the way, a mini fridge is usually like $60 at Walmart or Target. Also try finding one for cheap on Craigslist.org 🙂

    it could be that you were still bloated when you weighed yourself the first time.
    and unless you suddenly stopped eating, theres probably nothing going on. (i usually weigh 130, and one morning i woke up and weighed 126)
    weight fluctuates, so i wouldn't worry about it unless you continue to lose alot of weight in a short amount of time

    Find sweets that are not fattening, like an apple, orange, banana, pear, peach, etc.
    Try slicing up some fruits, bite size, apples, oranges, bananas, pears, peach, canned pineapple,etc.
    put them in a bowl, add some low, or nonfat yogurt, your favorite flavor, sprinkle with Cinnamon and shredded coconut.
    Dang, that sounds good, I think I'll do that now.
    Only eat small amounts.

    Walking and running is fine.
    It's not very healthy having fast food 2-3 times a week, unless it's subway.
    You and your dad should start eating healthier. They're are some serious health risks that will happen later on in life if most of what you eat is unhealthy. It's not about looking good, but feeling good.

    1-2 pounds on average weight loss per week if you are female. 3-4 pounds if you are male.

    You are doing it right. Just make sure and keep it up once you have gotten to your final goal weight.

    Hmm…well i am 16, and it was really weird, i started going to cross-country practice, and i think if your body can handel running, it's really good. The first run was 3.6 miles, but even if you walk/run, you will do really well. I weigh…i think 96, so it toned really well. Quite scary actually. Hope you succeed babe, i don't have enough to keep up With a work-out regiment that vigorous. God Luck!
