Yet another gimmick to set you up for failure. You need to exercise & adopt a lifelong healthy eating plan, in order to successfully lose weight. It also takes a great deal of determination to be successful. You have to stay focused also. I lost 130 lbs on the Atkin's Plan (my doctor approved of it for losing weight) & have kept it off for three years. I eat healthy, walk three to four miles daily, & I drink lots of water. Now that is a "real" fat flusher. Many people swear by Weight Watchers. My best friend lost so much of her unwanted weight, & has kept it off, & says she has finally found out that it takes many things to focus on, in order to lose weight. If one does NOT follow these healthy eating programs to a "T", then no, one will not be successful.

When we hear the word obesity, the words that often spring to mind are those of ugly or more obviously, fat. These are then followed by thoughts pertaining to negative social status. It is a reality that we usually associate obesity with the hindrance to socialization, as it negatively affects physical appearance. We tend to put aside the bigger and more important aspect of obesity we should concern ourselves about: it risks health. The very fact that it endangers health should spur us to determine ways with which we may lose weight. It is not merely a matter of making ourselves look more socially …

If you think you’re going to get laid the first week we’ve known each other, move on. That’s really not what I’m here for. I’m 5’10 and like taller men that have some bulk to them the good kind, not rolls of fat, please. I’m a tall girl but fairly thin and don’t feeling like I could crush you, haha. I’m an attractive single white female and shouldn’t have to resort to chirrup, but surprisingly the bars here don’t have the highest quality people… I’m not going to go into my whole life story or my likes and dislikes since that gets rid of all the conversation which I’m not so good at until I’ve been out with you a couple times anyway. Please send a pic and you’ll get mine in return. Hope to hear from you soon!

one thing I have noticed about people who say that is most have never owned a Mac but most Mac users (including me) have previously owned a windows PC.

So who has the more varied experience to say that cheaper is not always better?

I would consider if you have only owned 1 or the other you are probably biased and people who have experience with both are more likely to to have a accurate prospective.

Like you said, "You were your biggest the day you got married" At that point….during the "I do's" it's a little late to be like "Sorry, you gained too much weight, I can't marry you". You let yourself go way beyond what was acceptable. You knew you were fat when you met, but you thought he didn't care…so you let yourself get even fatter.

I don't mean to be rude, seriously. But unless a man has a fetish, he does not find being fat "beautiful".

You need to lose the weight and get in better shape.

Not camps though, because you can loose weight by yourself, First of your cover up your tongue, Then start exercises, Eat less than you normally does, Don't eat fat, eat protein instead.

  • estanos eckel

Since you were being very candid, I will be with my answer as well. I hope it is helpful and not hurtful:

Your question as to why he married you when you were overweight to begin with can be either he has such low self esteem and is such a bad guy that he thought he deserved to marry someone who couldn't make him truly happy or no one else would be able to love him. The second reason is as you said, no one is perfect. He married you because he loved who you were inside. Maybe he convinced him self that you were the perfect person in every aspect except the physical and his love for you could eventually cover that gap.

I woud say it is the second reason since he hasn't acted on his attraction to other women, It seems like he is sincerely trying. He went to therapy to try and work on the marriage. He has been taking steps to communicate better with you, something that doesn't come naturally for him.

You can walk away from what you have and just feel sorry for yourself and wonder for the rest of your life you attempted to get to a healthy weight you and your husband could have the intimacy you always wanted. It is easy to find someone we are physically attracted to, it is a lot harder to find someone we connect with mentally and feel safe and comfortable with.

    Aaron,
Sometimes “getting it” is extremely difficult. I wonder about my responsibility for vision…if I am willing to see, but don't see, is that “my” issue…is it a matter of timing…is it a signal to halt…do I press on in spite of a lack of vision?
Then there is the issue of having vision for something, and wondering about whether or not it is a worthy venture.
Sometimes when we don't have vision, it is best to rest and wait for one to come…but this tests us as well…for we are programmed to be “responsible”.

I spoke with a good friend recently, who said that she felt that she was a ship moored at dock. She was tempted through restlessness to set sail, but then she noticed (visioned) that there were loading and unloading activities happening. She decided to wait…to rest.

After speaking with her it came to my mind that overloaded ships sink in storms…and empty ships have no “business” leaving harbor.

Agreed your within a decent range. If you want to lose weight or just feel fitter is recommend swimming, cycling, running etc for total body workouts. The BMI calculator is not the best guidance though in my opinion just go on how you feel. If u imagine a bodybuilder calculating BMI they will all be classed as being morbidly obese due to weight and height.
    Hope this helps

I feel ya, thats how my running is hahahaha. But I heard when you get to basic the ds' are very strict about form and everything. I heard they make you go all the way down and usually still wont count it. But that is all part of the mind game. Personally i just try to get as close to the ground as possible and keep flat but but yeah 90 degree angle or even further if you can. Work yourself up, you'll get there soon enough. Ive been working at it and can now do 65 or so from 30! Do you have any running tips for me thats what im worried about?! Leaving for basic in about two weeks but best of luck to you!

  • hert

To be completely honest the Army has so many recruits that there more likely to recycle you to a earlier platoon and if you still fail the run you will simply be discharged. But also i wouldent worry to much about it when you get to basic and all you can do is the 830 mile they'll build you up until you can pass. You'll be doing alot of running in basic so you will get better. The only two mile run you have to pass is the final PFT towards the end of Basic so by then you should be fine.

Yes you will shower together you have very little time to get ready in the morning after PT. There are usually 40 to 60 females in the bay and you have about 8 shower heads. The showers are usually seperate with a wall and maybe a shower curtain if you are lucky.

You would have to check here to see if you meet your wieght for your age. If not you will get taped.

Also here is the PT test standards you will have to make. http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/apa/rc/apft.htm

What you could do, is get some information to let her know the dangers of bulimia… because there are plenty. it might take awhile to appear, but the problem is, once you start in with an eating disorder it becomes addictive and it's very hard to stop. I have suffered from an eating disorder for many years (im 23 now) and I wish if there was something I Could do to stop every little girl from starting I would. You have this oppurtunity and you need to do whatever you can do to not let this progress.
It's important for her to know all of the good things about her that are important, and to focus more on praising her for her talents/good characteristics, rather than focussing on weight

to be completely honest: smoking and alcohol are WAY worse for you that pot. if the government makes it legal, they can get in on the business. and safer sales of it can happen cuz you won't have twisted dealers lacing it with harder things to get them addicted, or the unsafe environment of trying to buy the drugs. the law can still prevent the use of it while driving and the like. i do not see why it is illegal

Good grief! Smitty's answer was very rude so I hope you don't follow that advice.I think you know what is best. Yes, be supportive to your friend and caring but give encouragement. Don't pretend she is thin when she is not but do not make her feel awful about it. Let her know that losing weight is very hard but with the right life style changes it can be done. It's all about what she is willing to do to truly lose the weight. Offer to be her support coach…maybe exercise with her. research all the healthy foods, eliminate all the junk food. You have the idea. Good luck.
