I did have a neighbor bring a horse over to me last year to see what might be wrong with her she had clear liquid running out of her mouth, sometimes it was bubbly. I felt her throat and esophogus and could find nothing that seemed wrong. Then I felt very deep up almost between the jaws where the top of the throat was and there was a ball I could feel that was about the size of a bigger than a golf ball. but it was so deep in the throat that if could not be easily felt. She ate fine and drank so the gal did not call a vet. I watched her for a few days thinking that it was a strangles absess. but she did not get sick or runny nose.
She sold the horse and never found out what it was.
