    If you are chubby at 17 you are definitely an endo-meso. A pure meso could eat what ever and still be quite lean and muscular. If a meso is older 30-40 then they could eat poorly and look like an endo meso, or even an endo, yet they could lose the fat rapidly and gain muscle quickly to look like a meso again if they eat right.

    Edit: Yes, but a pure meso would never get to 25% BF at 17 (their high muscle ratio burns calories faster then they could ever eat them). When they are older yes, but not in their teens.

    At the risk of being a pain, "vegan" means NO animal products at all, including eggs and fish. Both are good protein foods if you don't mind eating them. Shredded frosted wheat has too much sugar. Instead, have a slice of 100% whole wheat toast with fruit spread. BTW rice milk is crap; it's full of sugar, and that won't help you lose weight. About 1/4 cup of nuts is a good snack choice too; high in protein and minerals. Your mom is right about the beans; they are a good meat-free protein source.
    Walking is slightly better than sitting on the sofa watching TV, but you're gonna have to move around more in order to tone up. Have a bicycle?

You can certainly encourage her but beware of codependency (thinking you can and need to "fix" her). Sounds like her addiction issues could be inherent which is common. And as far as her making excuses, this saying holds true…"How do you know an addict is lying?….their lips are moving." Trust me, I know from painful experience with my family and myself. She will never, ever get her drinking "under control" because SHE isn't in control. Her addiction is.     I think that as long as a meal replacement shake has your daily nutrients for that meal then it's probably safe for you to have in place of a meal.     i lost 40 pounds over a period of 2 yrs. it's pretty simple in theory–eat the right stuff ie. dont eat late at nite etc and exercise. if u do both, he won't have to worry bout the excess skin. the hard thing is to be disciplined.

    I am sorry to break it to you; but there is no magic way to lose weight. All we (yes, we) can do is eat fewer calories than we use. It is that simple and that hard. The difficulty in losing weight is in choosing *what* to eat. It is important to make sure you get every food group and not give up on a single group. Also, get your doctor involved. Some people have specific issues that may require different ratios of the food groups. For example, I am insulin-resistant, so I have to limit my intake of starches/carbs. Note that I have not eliminated them like on Atkins. Only your doctor can help with this.

    This plan works for me: Count calories and keep your daily intake at around 1200 calories per day. Except you can eat as much salad as you want (sans the dressing, croutons, cheese, etc.) Snack on almonds throughout the day to stave off hunger pangs, drink a lot of water, and every 10 days or so just eat what you want for that day without any guilt.

    Second part: At least 5 days a week (6 is better) do an hours worth of exercise that involves about 20 minutes of weight training, where you are lifting weights up to the limit of your strength. A variety of different types of exercise are available (see any wall chart), usually three reps of 15 with the last rep being one that you can barely do as you tire out. Increase weights as you get stronger, and alternate and break up the weight program so that you're doing different types of exercises on alternating days and not working the same muscle group every day.

    Then spend about 40 minutes doing some sort of cardio that leaves you winded and good and sweaty at the end.

    On this sort of program I can easily lose 3 pounds a week, but women I know who try it tend to lose more like 2 pounds a week.

    Well that actually sounds really good!
    But you need more fruits and veggies in and between your meals.
    Eat five meals a day, and try to not eat at night. Also, if you could add in a little bit more exercise that would be fantastic! Try loosing weight first, then once you start a good pattern you can start toning up!
    If you have a local gym start to go there, swimming helps a lot, and slow jogging, because you can work up to a faster run. Im glad your drinking all that water! (: It will do wonders.
    Try cutting out those potato chips though.. go for light popped pop corn or a side salad. And not many fruit juices, if your eating fruits you don't need them.

    then in 2 weeks move it to walking half way and jogging half way for a mile 5 times a week.

    then after 2 weeks make it running 1 mile 5 times a week.

    Ensure or Boost will be a good supplement to take. But the pain won't last longer than 4 to 5 days and you'll get plenty of pain medications (or should get plenty of), and if you don't, call in to your doctor and ask for more or a stronger type if the one he gives you doesn't work. You won't feel very hungry anyway once your wisdom are pulled because number 1, the pain, and number two, you won't feel so hungry because you'll probably get a fever for a day or two. So there is really nothing to worry about. You'll come out of this just fine. Some swelling, some pain is all. But it will be gone be for you know it. Best of luck!

    dont listen to those bad answers. thruthfully, for a 13 year old girl trying to lose cargo you did fine. its very hard trying to lose weight next to all the food in the world (let alone in your house) you ate around 1200 calories im guessing. you should start to exercise also, but get through more calories (1500) your meals should look a bit like this : breakfast : bowl of cereal or oatmeal with swim milk or 1% milk. try to enjoy a fruit with that 2 or 3 hours later have a yogurt or something glowing, maybe a fiber gronolla bar lunch: small chicken salad. or maybe a untaught peanut butter samwich on whole wheat bread. include some peas or cellary or a tomatoe (some kind of vegetable) 2 or 3 hours later handfull of almonds dinner: fish, chicken, any kindly of meat. with a vegetable and maybe potato exercise throughout the day! and drink lots of wet!
